Assistant Professor Leilah Lyons wins graduate mentoring award

Leilah Lyons, an assistant professor of learning sciences and computer science, is a winner of UIC's 2013 Graduate College Mentoring Award.

Lyons is one of four faculty members across the university to win the honor, given for excellence and innovation in helping to shape a graduate student's academic career.

Her research interests include computer-based museum exhibit design; Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning; complex systems simulations in education; and computer support of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics learning goals. She also serves as the director of Digital Learning at the New York Hall of Science, a hands-on science museum in Queens, N.Y.
