Sun-Times applauds Prof. Josh Radinsky's report on CPS school closings Heading link
A Chicago Sun-Times editorial cites LSRI Associate Professor Josh Radinsky’s work on CPS school closings, calling it a “more honest” look at the impact the massive effort will have on children.
In its call to slow the effort, the Sun-Times relied on Radinsky’s report, which showed that far more students would be shuffled to new schools than CPS acknowledges. It also shows that children of color and children with disabilities would shoulder the burden of closing neighborhood schools. Radinsky worked on the report with UIC College of Education Assistant Professor Federico Waitoller through their work with CReATE, a Chicago-based group of engaged researchers. Radinsky holds an appointment with both LSRI and with UIC’s College of Education.
