iFAST Algebra Project

Student working on the board

The goal of the iFAST Algebra Project is to develop innovative instructional resources and a professional development model to support middle school teachers’ use of formative assessment practices to improve student learning in algebra. The project team is working collaboratively with teachers to develop a number of resources, including: learning trajectories for linear functions and equations, assessments that are aligned with those learning trajectories, and instructional resources that can help teachers make instructional decisions after they are provided with information about where students are on the learning trajectory. The expectation is that providing teachers with a toolkit of instructional resources and opportunities to learn about the content, learning trajectories, and formative assessment practices, will in turn produce improved student learning.
